The RightMesh ICO
What is the RightMesh ICO?
RightMesh aims to disrupt the Internet by providing device connectivity through a "mesh network" to the huge number of people around the world with no internet access.
Almost 4 billion people do not have internet access due to poverty and lack of infrastructure - RightMesh has developed a network that does not rely on the internet to connect devices and share data.
RightMesh aims to incentivize users with token rewards in exchange for data, cutting out middleman services like internet and phone network providers and rewarding users directly.
How does RightMesh work?
RightMesh is powered by decentralized blockchain technology and tokenization. Users set up an Ethereum account and allow their device to act as part of the infrastructure of a mesh of connectivity in order to facilitate data sharing.
The method used is called Ad Hoc Wireless Mesh Networking, and it operates through a series of radio nodes broadcasting and receiving signals. The decision of which node is used to share data is made dynamically depending on the location of the device in question, and the mesh cloud actually uses Wifi, bluetooth, and Wi-Fi direct to spread information.
The team aims to create mesh density by propagating their Flare app to Android devices. The app allows users to send out emergency signals in the event of phone and internet disruption, and any phone with the app becomes a mesh node.
RightMesh AG will produce an ERC20 RightMesh token called RMESH which can be used to purchase goods and services within the ecosystem, with examples being device storage, internet access, battery and processing power, geolocation, and more available within the ecosystem.
Why is RightMesh unique?
RightMesh applications will be open source, allowing users in different countries to modify apps to be language specific, etc. The project essentially aims to re-imagine the way we communicate as a species by taking advantage of existing tools (6 billion smartphones along with other connectable devices) and creating a global network through incentivization and affordability. By specifically designing the project with people living in poverty in mind, the project may well fill a gap in the market by bringing connectivity to the unconnected while strengthening the usefulness and effectiveness of the mesh with each new member.
Who makes up the team behind RightMesh?
RightMesh was created by Swiss company Right Mesh AG, a subsidiary of Left (Left of the Dot Media Inc.), a 110+ person technology company with headquarters in the suburbs of Vancouver, Canada.
John Lyotier is the Co-Founder & COO of Left and CEO of RightMesh. Lyotier is responsible for global strategy, vision, and the execution of the technology roadmap of the RightMesh project, and has 20 years in enterprise software, marketing FINAL technology startups.
Dr Jason Ernst is Chief Networking Scientist of Left and CTO of the RightMesh project. He has a PhD in Mesh Networking and Heterogeneous Wireless Networks as well as a M.Sc. on Scheduling Techniques for Wireless Mesh Networks from the Applied Computing faculty at the University of Guelph, where he works as an Adjunct Professor. Dr Enrst was CTO of Redtree Robotics prior to his current role and has written and published 20 papers on wireless networking and related topics.
Dr. Zehua Wang is Chief Micropayments Scientist and has a Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada. He has published many research papers in peer-to-peer networks, wireless social networks, cloud and edge computing, and Internet of Things. He has expertise of using optimization and game theories to solve economic problems.
Chris Jensen is Co-Founder and CEO of Left and COO of RightMesh. He has worked for Uk, Canadian, and international banks and is experienced in raising capital for companies after founding several start-up companies throughout his career. More details about the RightMesh ICO
The RightMesh ICO will begin on 30 May 2018 at 13:00 CET and end on 29 May 2018. Tokens bought during the sale are immediately transferrable after the ICO ends. The ICO is not available in Canada or the US except to accredited investors.
The RightMesh token is called RMESH. The price of a single RMESH token will be US$1, to be paid in ETH. The hard cap is set at US$30 million and there is no soft cap - the project will continue regardless of funds invested after Left invested US$7 million over the last 3 years. The maximum amount one investor can invest is $1000. Unallocated tokens will be returned to the RightMesh AG treasury for future use, and any extra tokens after hard cap is reached will be used for airdops 1 year after ICO.
